NHS competition team holds up their bronze medals placing 3rd in state

Saturday, November 8, the NHS competitive cheerleaders brought home the hardware!  The girls capped off the season on a high note, finishing their sectionals in 2nd place losing only to State champions Fishers, advancing out of regionals with a 3rd place finish and then going to Southport to compete in State. The girls finished 3rd in state behind Lake Central high school (2nd) and Fishers high school. The girls only finished one point behind second place nearly edging out Lake Central but finished just short with the bronze. This is the first time that NHS has done competitive cheering in 11 years. Last week we asked Chrystal Scott coach of the cheer team how they would finish. She responded with, ” The girls can and should finish in the top 3 in state.” They did just that, clearly setting a very high precedent for years to come in the NHS competitive cheering world.
