Senior Cheyanne Chase has been decorating her body since she was 16.

“[My first tattoo] was the one on my leg,” Chase said. “Since then I’ve gotten five more.”

Chase has a total of six tattoos: one on her thigh, three on her arm, one on her hip, and one on her side.

“I’ve designed five out the six,” Chase said. “One of them is a symbol so I didn’t design that one.”
Two of the tattoos on Chase’s arm are dedicated to her mom.

“One of [the tattoos] is kind of Alice In Wonderland based because that’s a movie [my mom] raised me on,” Chase said. “It’s kind of just the idea of time and how it’s always running, and the other one is because my mom is my best friend so I got her [writing of] ‘I love you,’ and her favorite flower on my arm.”

Chase already has plans for future tattoos.

“I actually have the rest of my sleeve for my left arm planned out already so I’m getting that soon,” Chase said.

At the end of the day, tattoos for Chase are used as visual representations of her thoughts and feelings. She believes that everyone should visually showcase their feelings.

“Tattoos are seen as really scary and committed things, which they are and they should all have meaning, but I think more people should express themselves through art that way,” Chase said.
