The NHS Library has been focusing their energy on the Rosie Reader Program— encouraging students to read Rosie books, consisting of twenty five novels that have been nominated for the Eliot Rosewater Indiana High School Book Award— and the Miller Reader Club— a book club coordinated by librarian Lucy Misetic where students read and discuss Rosie books and novels voted on by students. Rosie books are novels aimed towards teenagers, selected yearly by a committee of teens, teachers, librarians, and authors in Indiana.
In hopes to gather more readers, Misetic has recently started giving out free copies of the Rosie books each month in a raffle. In order to enter the raffle, students must fill out a Google Form posted in the library announcements.
Misetic and the whole library strives to create lifelong readers and learners. She thinks that “providing access to books in the library and in their homes is the best way to achieve that goal.”
