With the school year now starting to settle back, it’s time for girls soccer to get back in action.

Before the season even began, positive talk was going around stating that the team was expected to be really good this year. The team has current record of 5-1-4(W-L-T) so far in the season. There was and still are many high expectations about the team.

“When people put expectations out saying that the team will be extremely good this year, I think that ultimately motivates us,” senior left back Madison Marquart said.

Now their record so far has not exactly met the standards due to 5-1-4 loss record they have. The team has also had the feeling of success, but has shared its struggles.

“Our biggest struggle as a team is coming out strong in the first half,”  junior holding mid Hannah Potter said.”We all know it because we have often get scored on very early in the first half. We are most definitely a second half team.”

With the soccer team falling behind in their division, the expectations still remain at a high level for the team. Currently the team is in the top 5 in wins/losses and is ranked #4 in the conference. With every year comes expectations for the team.

“We set the bar very high for ourselves. It’s why we play the toughest schedule in the state, which will allow us to challenge for both a sectional and state title,” head coach Mike Brady said.

With the team being in the toughest conference in the state according to head coach Mike Brady, the season continues to move forward with celebrations and disappointments. Each game will be a challenge for the team, so they’ll have to be up for the task.
