Wrestling moves on to Regionals: Senior CJ Livingston shares his hopes for the upcoming competition

As February rolls in, wrestling enters its postseason, in a survive and advance style tourney. The Millers had sectionals this past Saturday at Elwood, where sevenMillers advanced to regionals, including Senior CJ Livingston. Livingston placed himself onto the podium to move on, yet he knows he can do better next time.

“At sectionals, I feel I wrestled alright, but not as good as I should’ve wrestled. Placing 3rd advanced me to regionals, which is nice, but because of the tough competition in my weight class, I wasn’t able to place any higher,” Livingston said.

This impressive finish by Livingston can only be remembered so long as he competes again this Saturday at Regionals. The regional competition brings in more schools, inviting tougher competition for Livingston.

“For regionals I expect to win and advance, fighting for my spot on the podium as there is a lot more tough competition there, but I know I can move on.” Livingston said.

Yet Livingston hopes to improve upon his finish from last year, where it ended at Regionals. Those who advance will see themselves at super regionals, an even tougher competition. This is the challenge for the Millers this season, as they hope to get as many wrestlers as possible to state.
