yYour Noblesville Millers beat the Mt. Vernon Marauders 43-24 in their home opener Friday night. The Millers were led by senior defensive end and running back Israel Oladipupo, who scored 2 rushing touchdowns in the effort, along with multiple tackles for loss on defense.
Early on offense, a Noblesville fumble in the first two minutes lead to a swift touchdown by Mt. Vernon. The Marauders held the advantage until the Millers went on a 22-0 scoring run to take control of the game. The Millers would then hold on until the final whistle, ringing in the new season with a victory.
Leaning on their running, the Millers finished senior night with a staggering 6 rushing touchdowns, to the Marauders 3.
The Millers passing offense was led by senior tight end Aiden Brewer, whose 28 and 22-yard receptions moved the chains on touchdown drives.
Noblesville’s next game will be at Homestead on August 30th, and their next home game will be on September 13th against Westfield.
