Noblesville High School announced Mitchell Holden as the new head coach for the varsity girls soccer team. Holden spent time as head coach for girls soccer at Plainfield High School where he had a record of 44-20-6, which resulted in an astonishing 28-0 conference record, and four straight mid-state conference championships.
“Watching Noblesville from afar over the last few years and watching their continued streak of dominance throughout the state tournament, it’s a one and one type of opportunity, and I am just really excited to have that opportunity, and to be around in this culture,” Holden said.
Holden also brings experience as the former head girls soccer coach at Lawrence North High School, and Mooresville High School, as well as roles as an Indy Eleven Academy girls coach and a volunteer assistant women’s coach at Marian University. He is also a United States Navy veteran where he trained as a Navy SEAL and served as a Command Fitness Leader.
“We’re happy to welcome Coach Holden to our program and are confident he will continue to build upon our culture of success,” said Noblesville High School athletic director Leah Wooldridge. “His coaching focus on hard work, mentorship, growth and relationship building will serve our students well both as athletes and in life.”
With all the experience that Holden contributes, one of the upcoming seniors next year, Allie Royer, is excited for the potential of what the future holds for the team and what her and team expectations will be.
“I am pretty excited to see him joining the team next year, and seeing what he can bring. It is going to feel like a new beginning but I think we are all going to connect easily,” Royer said.
Holden will be replacing former coach Mike Brady, who went on to win the IHSAA state championship this past 2024 season, their third straight state championship. Brady says that he will miss his time here deeply.
“You just know in your heart when it’s time for something to end,” Brady said. “My coaching career has been like a roller coaster ride, it was fun and exhilarating, and I enjoyed every moment of it, but like all rides, they come to an end, and I’m getting off this one with a huge smile on my face.”
Holden is excited to get to work with the returning players on the championship roster. He is looking to continue Miller’s recent trend of winning championships.
“Everywhere [I’ve] been, we always strive for the same culture that’s here, big on each other, big on staying together,” Holden said. “We’re gonna work hard, we’re gonna work hard for each other. We’re gonna pick each other up.”
