Do you hear that? It’s the sound of your alarm clock going off for the third time this morning.

These past two months have hit Noblesville High School students like a truck when it comes to waking up this new school year. It is time students do something about the snooze button.

Donna Buckley, a health teacher at Noblesville High School, has seen students feeling tired during her years of teaching. The main factor that affects whether students are tired or not is the amount of sleep they get the night before.

“When I ask my students how many hours of sleep they get, the average is probably six hours,” Buckley said.

Of course, other factors can add to being tired as well. Buckley explained some good habits to have so students can be able to get to bed earlier.

“Good habits to have are turning off your technology at night and being organized with your time is key. Also don’t drink caffeine after seven at night,” Buckley said.

Getting enough sleep is best and with these good habits, students can hopefully wake up less worn out.
