Newly elected Student Government officers share their plans and ideas for next year

As this school year comes to a close, everyone is ready to sit back, relax and enjoy the summer heat. But for NHS’s student government representatives, things are just getting started. The newly elected class presidents are preparing for the fast-approaching 2016-2017 school year. Many of them say they have big plans to better our school.

  • “Next year I really want to work on building up our school unity as well as reaching out to the community more.”

  • “[Senior Vice President Elliott Derose and I] want to do more pep rallies throughout the winter because we want all of the sports to get recognized.”
  • “We have something planned for graduation that we want to keep a secret so it’s a surprise.”

  • Working on organizing a service project
  • “I think it would be cool if we did maybe an Earth Day project or something for the environment in the spring as a school.”

  • “I really want to maybe have announcements on the loudspeaker because a lot of people I know don’t watch the announcements.”
