From bell bottoms in the 70’s to acid-washed jeans in the 80’s, fashion trends are always evolving. In 2025, slick backs, Sambas, and barrel jeans weren’t hard to find. But it’s time to welcome in a new year and new trends. Will it be the return of Y2K or the cottagecore apocalypse? Is this the year of ballet flats or combat boots? There’s no way to know, with countless eras to draw from, but there’s always a best guess.

Comfy Cozy

     “I’m hoping to see a lot of layering,” sophomore Dehja Krachon said. “I think a casual look, like comfortable and cotton.”

Bigger the Better

     “I think that either bell bottoms or baggy jeans are going to be extremely popular this year,” junior Marlow Phillips said. “Oversized clothes will probably stick around for a while.”

Bright and Bold

     “I want green to be popular,” junior Grant Wettrick said. “I’m hoping for a bit more vibrance, you reds and your greens.”

     “I think there’s going to be kind of Y2K, just a little bit,” Krachon said.
